| Oregon Vacation 2006 - link to photos of Waterfalls We left Utah Wednesday evening and slept at a rest area in Ontario, Oregon for a few hours. Thursday, we drove through the Columbia River Gorge, making a few stops along the way and arrived at Silver Falls State Park in the early afternoon. We hiked around the Trail of Ten Falls and stayed the night in a nice cabin. Friday morning, we hiked some more in the rain and then drove to Eugene to be with Grandparents. | | Oregon Vacation 2006 - link to photos of Middle We had a wonderful visit with Grandpa and Grandma Waugh. Each day was filled with caring company and flavorful food. On Saturday, we all drove up to Portland to visit the Chinese and Japanese Gardens. Sunday, we went to church, had a nice relaxing day, and went on an afternoon walk in the Eugene rhododendron gardens. Monday, we awoke and prepared to depart to the Oregon coast. | | Oregon Vacation 2006 - link to photos of Ocean Monday afternoon we arrived on the coast to find sunny skies and temperate temperatures. We got settled in our yurt by Umpqua Lighthouse and then set out for an afternoon hike over to the lighthouse and then down to the beach by way of the sand dunes. The fog horn (or something) sounded through the night to make for an interesting night. Tuesday, we visited the Sea Lion Caves, some beaches, a Chinese seafood restaurant in Newport, another lighthouse, Palkki Grandparents and other relatives, and finally departed on our journey back home. We sang, we slept, we snored, and we celebrated our arrival back to our very own home to find all well there. What an enjoy trip! |
